Vaser Liposelection (Vaser Lipo) refers to the body sculpting procedure that employs ultrasound waves for breaking fat cells and removing unwanted fat from the body. During this procedure, the fat areas in the body are targeted, appearance of muscles is more defined and other tissues are kept intact.
Vaser Liposelection Procedure
- During this procedure, the area to be treated is injected with a saline solution. It is followed by insertion of thin probes via tiny incisions.
- These probes transmit ultrasound energy for breaking and liquefying the fat cells.
- The gentle suction is applied for removing the liquefied fat from the body.
- Results of the Vaser Liposelection are visible immediately after the vaser liposelection procedure and final results are observed after 3 or 4 months.
Duration of procedure/surgery
The time taken for the Vaser Lipo procedure varies from 1 and 3 hours depending on the size as well as the number of areas being treated.
Days admitted
Vaser lipo is carried out as an outpatient procedure and patient is not required to stay overnight at the hospital. Patient is administered with local anaesthesia, although in some cases procedure can also be performed under general anaesthesia.
Recovery
- Patients are advised to take complete rest for 12 hours after the Vaser Lipo.
- Patients can resume normal activity after one day following the procedure.
- Patients can also engage in strenuous exercise and sports activity after period of 2 to 3 weeks.

- Patient is advised to wear a compression garment for a period of 7 to 10 days.
